Blue Lias Rings Walks

Two country walks offering some of Warwickshire’s finest countryside and wildlife.

We are very lucky to be situated in the heart of Warwickshire’s beautiful countryside and as such there are several walks that can be enjoyed from The White Hart Inn.

There are two Blue Lias Rings walks that begin and end at the pub, both of which are approximately 5 ½ miles long. These walks take in beautiful scenery, including Ufton and Long Itchington Wood, an ancient woodland dating back to 1001, which has a stunning sea of bluebells during the Spring.

Ufton Fields Nature Reserve

For those who would prefer a less strenuous walk, Ufton Fields Nature Reserve is situated approximately ½ mile from us.

From The White Hart, follow Ufton Fields through the village until you arrive at the Nature Reserve car park.

This 100 acre site, managed in partnership with Warwickshire Wildlife Trust, is a wildlife haven with all-weather footpaths providing access to varied habitats in every season. The site is noted for its abundance of butterflies, dragonflies, wild flowers and birds.

Many unusual plants thrive at this Nature Reserve, which was formed after limestone excavations ceased. It is also home to 15 types of dragonfly and 28 different butterflies. A mostly flat, circular, way-marked surfaced footpath of approximately 1.25 miles will lead walkers around the site.
